Update Virgin and Tapo Device
Upgrading Virgin WiFi is pretty easy process. The Virgin routers updates automatically, but you can also update it manually. There are few steps that help you Upgrade Virgin Media WiFi via your computer;
- Access the Virgin router interface in your computer (connected with hub network).
- To reach the login page, search the IP address 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in web browser.
- You will get to the interface login page where you have to enter the username and password.
- Access the interface and click on the Admin option and go in the Update tab.
- Here, you can update your Virgin router hub by clicking on the UPDATE button.
You should also update the Tapo devices through app or its GUI interface.
Change Frequency Channels
One more reason behind this mentioned problem is hub is still broadcasting the signals from on both the WiFi channels (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). To confirm use the Wi-Fi Analyser app, if it is true then access the interface and change frequency band to only one channel according to the area of your house.
Reset Virgin Media Hub Router
At last, you can use the reset process to solve the problem (if no solution is working). to reset follow these steps;
- Press and hold the hub reset button about 7 seconds.
- It will be a pinhole button so use a sharp object.
- After sometime the hub will reset, then you have to re-do the Virgin Media hub login process again.
